Clifford T. Ward
Lost Again (K-Tel Version)
00:00 / 02:36
LOST AGAIN
Lost again
Your dreams all turned and tossed again
And mine all double crossed again
In the same old way
You won, I'm lost again
Lost again
I'm on my own washed up again
All alone mixed up again
In the same old way
You won, I'm lost again
It's the same old feeling tonight
Me on my own out of love
And you still out of sight
I'm lost again
Standing down nonplussed again
Broken down mistrust again
In the same old way
You've won, I'm lost again
It's the same old feeling tonight
Me on my own out of love
And you still out of sight
I'm lost again
Standing down nonplussed again
Broken down mistrust again
In the same old way
You've won, I'm lost again
Lost Again (single version)

A song that is surely up there with Clifford's best, is the wonderful Lost Again, which first appeared in 1980 on K-Tel's, The Love Album. Far too good a song to be left there, it was reworked for the B-side of the brilliant WEA single, The Best Is Yet To Come, in 1981 but strangely it never made it onto any of Clifford's studio albums.
The song does feature on the compilation albums, Bittersweet (RP Media 1999) and This Was Our Love (Cherry Red 2003) and a different version can be found on the Studio Sessions album (Cherry Red 2005).
Artists such as Ann Breen, Paul Brett & Robert Garnay have all recorded versions of it.
